For over 90 years there has been a tram running to the Port of Sollier form the old town of Sollier and is well worth a visit. The road can become busy during the summer so why not take the train and meander through the country side through orange groves and vineyards
From a converted 17th Century manor house in the old town of Soller, the old tram clatters its way down to Palma around 5 times everyday. Both tourists and locals alike, have been making this journey now for the past 90 years in the vintage brass and mahogany carriages that are a trademark of this train, whilst admiring the breathtaking scenery en-route.
The old Roman town of Pollensa can still be found 5km inland from the port, and it is certainly worth a visit with many of the narrow streets dating back to the 18th Century.
The old church in Sineu is well worth a visit and is now home to the local nuns. The church has been there for over 700 years and has been the center of village life for decades .
Sinue is also the home of an ancient market that has been held here for over 700 years and still trades in animals and local produce.
The market started trading in 1306 and is one of the oldest and most interesting in Majorca.
Binisalem is a town located in the middle of the island and is a wine producing region and is full of bodegas and vineyards. It is unspoilt by tourism and here you can enjoy a typical Mallorcian lifestyle.
There are many art galleries and museums located in Palma and are well worth a visit.
