Caves of Majorca

There are many famous caves in Majorca visited by many many tourist who admire their imposing grandeur.

Some visitors have stated the caves should be declared one of the ninth wonders of the world.

Guided tours are available though out the caves providing a great adventure for your holiday and an unforgettable day out as you take in the decorated chambers and passageways where there are magnificent stalagmites and stalactites sculptured by the water through out millions of years.

The Coves of Campanet are located in the north of the island within easy reach of the main motorway to Alacudia.exit 37 Palma-Sa Pobla- Port D’Alacudia Tel 971 51 61 30.

The Coves de Arta are located on the north east coast of Mallorca and are signed posted Carretera de las Cuevas,s/n open all year except 25th December and 1st January.

You can arrive at the caves via the boat which leaves Cala Ratjada( summer only )

The Caves of Drach is the most popular of caves with the visiting tourists.

There are three main caves, Cueva Negra (Black Cave), Cueva Blanca (White Cave) and Cueva Luis Salvator, at the end of which is a place called La ventana (the window).

Through la ventana there is a huge lake, now known as Lago Martel (Lake Martel), behind which is the latest discovery of the caves, now known as Cueva de los Franceses (Cave of the French).

There are no guided tours, the visitors make there own way at there own time, allowing them to take in the spectacular stalactites and stalagmites which decorate this natural wonder. On reaching the lake, there is an hourly concert of classical music provided by live musicians as they float along the lake on boats. A short boat trip for tourists is available.

The caves are located 1.5km (0.9 miles) south of Porto Cristo. Enter into Porto Cristo, and then follow the road signs marked clearly “CUEVAS DEL DRACH”

Nature Reserve Mallorca

La Reserva Puig de Guig is a unique nature reserve in Majorca with over 2.5 million meters square of flourishing vegetation and where a  great variety of exceptional beautiful animals live in a breathtaking environment.

A 3Km hike along it,s easygoing paths offers the possibility to enjoy more than 30 amazing water falls.

This leads to the main recreation area where our bar and  BBQ services as well as our refreshing mountain rock pools.

A stunning paradise waiting for you to explore.

This is a great day out and although it is a 3 km walk it is a very gentle meander through the pine forests.

There are wild peacocks showing off along route along with some spectacular views along the mountain range to the coast.

Open all year round 10am until 19.00. It is recommended a very comfortable pair of shoes , water and a camera for the walk.

You can take a pack lunch or some BBQ to enjoy at the bottom whist watching the bird of prey show.
